Privacy Policy

FamOS («we», «our», «us») respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what control you have over it.
1. Information we collect
You provide:
- Account info: email, display name, optional avatar URL. Created when you sign up via Apple, Google, or email.
- Budget data: transactions (amount, description, date, category), recurring payments, growth tiers, events, photos of receipts you choose to upload.
- Subscription info: tier, expiration date, transaction ID (managed by Apple — we store only the status).
Collected automatically:
- Device push token (APNs token) — used only to send reminders about your own data.
- Device identifier (anonymous UUID per install) — used to manage push tokens.
- Locale — used to localize push and AI insights.
We do not collect: location, contacts, calendar (we only write events you create — we don't read your existing events), browsing history, advertising identifiers.
2. How we use it
All collected data serves only to provide the app's functionality: showing your budget, calculating tiers, sending reminders for your recurring payments and family events, sharing the budget with family members you invite.
We do not sell data. We do not run advertising. We do not profile users for marketing purposes. We do not share data with third parties for their own purposes.
3. Third-party processors
To run the service we use a small number of trusted providers, each bound by strict data processing agreements:
- Supabase Inc. (United States, EU region for our data) — database, authentication, file storage. Stores your account, budget data, and uploaded receipt photos.
- Apple Inc. — Sign in with Apple, push notifications (APNs), App Store payments. Apple's privacy policy applies to data Apple processes directly.
- Anthropic, PBC — AI categorization and weekly insights. We send only short transaction descriptions and aggregated budget data (no email, no full names, no precise amounts of individual transactions in aggregate processing). Anthropic does not train on our data per its enterprise terms.
- Google LLC — only if you choose Sign in with Google for authentication.
4. Where data lives
Primary database — Supabase in Frankfurt, Germany (EU). Receipt photos — private S3-compatible storage in the same region. Push tokens — same database. Apple subscription state — synchronized from Apple's servers.
5. Family sharing
When you invite a family member to your budget, all members can see all transactions, recurring payments, tiers, events, and AI insights within that shared budget. Receipt photos are visible to all members. You can revoke a member's access from Settings → Budgets (admin role required).
6. Children
FamOS is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in EEA). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has signed up, email privacy@famos.tech and we will delete the account.
7. Your rights
- Access: Settings → Profile shows your data. You can request a full export by emailing privacy@famos.tech — we respond within 30 days.
- Correction: edit in the app directly.
- Deletion: Settings → Account → Delete Account permanently removes your profile and your portion of shared budgets. Shared budget data may remain visible to other members until they also delete.
- Portability: export available on request (JSON or CSV).
- Object / restrict: contact us.
8. Data retention
Active accounts: data is kept while the account exists. Deleted accounts: profile and personal data removed within 30 days; backups purged within 90 days. Anonymized aggregate statistics (e.g., total monthly transaction count) may be retained indefinitely for product improvement.
9. Security
Data in transit is encrypted with TLS 1.3. Data at rest in Supabase is encrypted (AES-256). Row-level security (RLS) on the database ensures one user cannot read another user's data outside shared budgets. App Store Server API keys and Anthropic API keys are stored encrypted in Supabase Vault.
10. Changes
We update this policy when laws or our practices change. We post the updated version here with a new «Last updated» date. Material changes are announced via in-app notification.
